TOUCH FOR HEALTH

The health care system in many western countries has developed to such an extent that the average person cannot successfully administer to the needs of his family, even for minor aches and pains, without resorting to the use of drugs. The system has increased to such a point of dependence, exploitation, and impotence that a great deal of frustration is being experienced by the people. When the public spends over $100,000,000,000 for prescription drugs and over $50,000,000,000 for non-prescription drugs each year and we need only one-third of them, it is time we take stock of what is going on in the health field.

The alternative methods, such as Touch for Health, are looking to lower the cost of health care. It may help to prevent some of the needless surgery and medication that is given for the sole purpose of satisfying the demand that something must be done when a symptom is present. With the rising cost of health care and the increasing dangers in receiving it through the use of drugs and surgery, the greater demand that it be paid for out of our taxes, it seems that we all must learn to do more for ourselves. Until 20 years ago most of these methods and techniques have been exclusively the province of the chiropractic profession. They are now used and are part of the armamentarium of some health practitioners from all areas: biomedical orthodox, homeopathic, naturopathic, kinesiological practitioners, nurses, dentists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and the new specialized Kinesiology practitioners. They are being utilized by millions of people in over 50 countries around the world.

Therefore, Touch for Health is a developed technique, which have been developed in the last 30 years in chiropractic, alternative and medical care facilities, together with modern practice of ancient disciplines and knowledge in Oriental health management.

With the rising cost of health care............ it seems that we all must learn to do more for ourselves.

Man is a structural-chemical-psychological-spiritual being and balance of the whole person must include understanding that all of these make up the whole person. Touch for Health effect the whole person including the use of the intellectual, thinking, imagining aspects. These are approached through the structural with muscle testing as biofeedback and anchoring. The structural, postural area has been the most neglected. Testing, touching and massaging the body and the muscles, using their functions, their relative strength and weakness and how they work in the body, to get the body into better balance.

The body is not perfect. WE are not all born with the same genes and the same power of recovery. We live in an environment where we say that all human beings are created equal. Instead of meaning equal in sight of the law, that we all have equal opportunity, we try to make it say that we all have equal inherited potential. That’s just not true. We are not all alike, and we are not perfect. But even if we are operating within normal limits, who wants to be just average?

We cannot believe that we were meant to have to learn to live with pain. Pain is the final alarm before some life-threatening malfunction takes place. Just prior to the pain and malfunction, there are signs and symptoms which can be recognized. One of these is a weakening of the muscles and a change in posture. We must learn to listen and to feel what is going on in our bodies and be able to correct the reason for the pain and allow the life force to flow uninterrupted throughout the body.

Many of the ways to help the body function more fully require a second person. This helps foster communication between people and develops a great trust as they begin to help each other. A person by himself can work on some of these things, but we want to get away from the idea that each man is an island. We are social beings. We need each other. We need to touch each other in other ways besides for punishment or sex. Even with children, touching is looked upon with suspicion. But now we have another reason to touch – to help each other.

We can touch for health.

This is a start in the direction of a new look at man – a look at man as he could be. This is a start toward concentrating on man’s health and how to maintain it, rather than on illness and how to cure it.

Health must be maintained, preserved and cultivated.

“The body is intricately simple and simply intricate. If you produce the right measure for the right condition, you get the right response”
George Goodheart
